Maternity Sessions - Houston Maternity Photographer

When I was pregnant with my kids, I had checklists for my checklists...making sure every last detail was perfect before our babies arrived. The nursery was pristine down to the custom-made bedding, the house was baby proofed, shelves were stock, car seats installed and every baby book read. However, I often regret never taking the time to document either pregnancy.

As a photographer, I am ashamed to admit that I only have a few cell phone pictures from when I was pregnant with our first, and no photos from when I was pregnant with our second child.

This is such a special time in your life. You are glowing and radiant. You can't wait to meet your new baby. Let's document this miracle.

When do I need to schedule my maternity photography session?

Maternity sessions are typically done between 28 and 32 weeks. However, every body is different. Some women will not 'pop' until later in their pregnancy. Others may want to wait until they are further along. Although 28-32 weeks is suggested, the best time is honestly whenever you feel ready.

What should I wear?

Wear something you feel comfortable in. I also recommend light neutrals. Most maternity sessions take place in a studio with white shiplap walls, white bedding, gray brick wall, gray and green couches and old green barn doors.

Can my husband/children be in the photos as well?

Yes, of course! While the focus will be on the soon-to-be new mom, I love to include the rest of the family as well. While mom is resting, I also like to get photos of any children by themselves so you have plenty of variety.

How long will the session be?

Maternity sessions typically last between 1-2 hours. If it is strictly a maternity sessions we will be finished in about an hour. If others are included in the session it will often last 1.5-2 hours.

When and how will I receive my images?

I always tell clients that I will have their photos ready within 1-2 weeks in order to account for unforeseen circumstances. It rarely takes that long though. I like to get them back to you quickly so you can share with your friends and family.

A variety of images from the session are hand-edited and loaded into an online gallery. You will be able to admire the photos from the comfort of your home and download the images. From there, you can either print the images on your own or can order professional prints through me...taking advantage of the professional photographer discounts I receive.
